Call for Stories: 2019 Pride Series
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and a half-century of LGBTQIA+ activism and fight for liberation. June marked the start of the Pride season. In honor of this landmark year we’re releasing a special story series and looking to capture as many stories as possible for this episode special.
Recognizing that black, queer, trans & non-binary people are often excluded from the Pride narrative, our goal is to pass a microphone to and offer a platform for the most marginalized voices in the LGBTIA+ Community to share their stories.
About You Had Me at Black
You Had Me at Black is a storytelling podcast and event series reclaiming the Black narrative by passing the microphone to regular people to share their true-life stories in their own words. You can listen to our podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and any app where podcasts play.
We’re a response to mainstream media’s failure to represent the black experience in a multi-faceted and authentic way. When you listen to You Had Me at Black you hear black people like you, and not like you at all.
